November 2025 Employee of the Month!
Which is better, The East Coast or the West Coast? The debate will continue, however one thing we know is that a great work ethic is not bound by geographic markers or state lines. A great work ethic travels with whoever possesses it and that is why we are glad that the Philly Temps & Perm Employee of the Month for November, Evan W., travelled East to make his mark in Philadelphia.
Evan proves that adage that still water runs deep, as he brings a quiet competence to each situation he is in. One never questions if he is paying attention, and one never questions if he comprehends information, because after the briefest training, Evan hits the ground running with his assigned tasks, always taking an interest in executing those tasks in the most efficient and congenial manner.
We all wonder if Evans’ love of art helps him recognize that his customer service skills are an art form that should be studied. Either way, we are thrilled to have Evan on the team.
Thank you, Evan!
Philly Temps (PT): How long have you lived in the Philadelphia, PA area?
Evan W. (EW): Before finally settling out here I had spent some time here visiting friends. I enjoyed wandering about the city taking photos and drinking too much coffee at every cafe I happened across. About three years ago now, I moved from San Francisco to live with my partner in South Philly.
PT: What was your work experience prior to working with Philly Temps?
EW: My professional background prior to Philly Temps was mostly in retail and tourism, supplemented by pet sitting and illustration.
PT: How did you hear about Philly Temps?
EW: I recalled that a couple of friends had gotten work through Philly Temps, in a bout of panic after the job I thought I had lined up before moving to Philly fell through.
PT: Please share your most memorable experience working for Philly Temps.
EW: I was working an event as the only temp at a pharma conference at the Loews Hotel. A little over halfway through, a trickle of water appeared down the hall from the registration desk. Followed by a downpour from the light fixtures. One by one, we watched panels in the drop ceiling darken, swell with water, and then fall to the floor.
PT: Do you have a favorite local place to shop / visit?
EW: Fairly regularly I will make a trip to Philly Aids Thrift to rifle through their assortment of trinkets and rummage the clothing bins. Doing so, my partner and I have amassed a menagerie of curios that continues to take over our apartment.
PT: What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
EW :Mostly I stay in and consume lots and lots of fiction of all sorts. Recently horror movies have occupied a disproportionate amount of my time, as should be the case for the spooky season. I also love novels, tv, comics, and games; it’s hard to beat a compelling story.
PT: What are your long-term career goals?
EW: I would love to continue my arts education with the ultimate goal of teaching at a university. That said I’m drawn to so many different things I keep hesitating to settle on any one thing.
PT: What advice can you give to prospective candidates that want to work with Philly Temps?
EW: Reach out to the office staff often! They are friendly and will advocate for you.
