Meet the September 2026 Employee of the Month, Jabari:
When an artist is in front of blank canvas, they likely have a vision of what should be there or they are ready to take a journey without a final destination in mind. Both are valid as it is the execution that is important, not the plan. The Philly Temps & Perm Employee of the Month for September 2026, Jabari Z. is an artist who understands this concept and actively celebrates the journey.
Art reaches well beyond a frame. It is in job performance, interpersonal relationships and day to day activities, and Jabari carry’s that creative vision in all he does. He may have a vision of what is expected, but he also has a mind that is open to different ways to get there. Always polite, always engaged, always creative and most importantly, all successful.
Employers and coworkers alike feed off the positive energy Jabari exudes, and it is impressive to see someone so intent on making a living doing what they love. Philly Temps has been lucky that Jabari has included us on his journey, and we are also incredibly grateful for they way he brings everything he has into each assignment. It truly is an art to be that successful.

Philly Temps (PT): How long have you lived in the Philadelphia, PA area?
Jabari Z (JZ):I grew up in Philadelphia but left after graduating from UPENN in 2011, but I recently returned in 2023.
PT: What was your work experience prior to working with Philly Temps?
JZ: I'm first and foremost an artist, but have worked as an educator teaching undergraduate and graduate students. In the fast five years, I've been working as an Executive Director or consultant for art and cultural non-profits.
PT: How did you hear about Philly Temps?
JZ:I think I found Philly Temps through Google while looking for temporary work.
PT: Please share your most memorable experience working for Philly Temps.
JZ: Every assignment with Philly Temps has been memorable. From working events to scoring math tests for 5th and 6th graders, I've been able to connect with so many great people in the Philadelphia area. What always sticks out is meeting other people working for Philly Temps and their positive energy and care for whatever task is at hand. With such a difficult job market, it's good to find people still motivated and energized.
PT: Do you have a favorite local place to shop, visit, or grab lunch?
JZ: I'm going to any Hot Pot in town. I think I've almost gone to all of them.
PT: What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
JZ: I'm an artist, so I have managed to make a career out of my hobby.
PT: What are your long-term career goals?
JZ: I'm looking to continue working with arts and cultural organization.
PT: What do you think has contributed most to your success on assignment?
JZ: Patience and positive energy. It could be a day, a week, or longer, but you’re coming in to help someone as a part of their daily work life. It’s good to make it an enjoyable experience for them just as much as a good pay day for yourself.
PT: What advice can you give to prospective candidates that want to work with Philly Temps?
JZ: Be patient with placement and be open to some jobs that might not be exactly what you want. Get to know the Philly Temp team and help where and when you can.
